Galvanised Balustrade For A Ramp

In recent years there has been a trend away from getting older people going into aged care facilities. Rather they have been encouraged to stay in their own home as long as possible and receive at-home-care.

To enable this to happen it is important that their home is as safe as possible, with one of the major issues being trip and fall hazards.

A major fall hazard on many older homes is the entry to the house, where it is not uncommon to have steps that are required to be negotiated to enter/exit the front door.

The easiest way to correct this issue is to install a balustrade so that the person has something to support them when negotiating the steps.

We have a range of galvanised pipe and fittings that can be easily installed to create a balustrade that will reduce the chance of a trip or fall occurring.

You can see in the photos below the result of a job that one of our customers installed on a house. The pipe  (handrail) was painted a neutral creme colour to blend into the home, but the fittings were kept un-painted.

For balustrade in this type of situation we recommend using our 42mm diameter pipe and fittings, but we also have the same products in 27mm, 34mm, 48mm and 60mm.

All of these items can be found in our online shop.
