Timber Ballet Barres in NZ Beech
Thursday, June 14, 2012
Just recently we had a customer ask if we could make a wooden ballet bar. We told them that we had round timber handrail in 43mm diameter in both Victorian Ash and Jarrah that might suit this need; but they said that they needed it to be 48mm in diameter and in a lighter type of timber.
We told them that we had some NZ Beech in stock that might work, then sent them a sample so that they could have a look at it. They liked what they saw and gave us the go ahead.
Using our in-house tool shop we made the special cutters, set the moulder and ran the rail. The end result can be seen in these 2 photos.
The customer received the ballet barre a few days later, and was extremely happy with the end result.
