For the last 2 decades we have been selling a large range of Pine products that are designed for exterior; including such items as Verandah Posts, Fence Post Capitals, Eave Brackets etc.

Apart from the fact that they are all made from Radiata Pine, the other thing that they have in common is that they are also treated in a wood preservative. This wood preservative helps prevent insect borers, termites and fungal decay from attacking the timber.

The treatment is only on the surface though, so if you need to cut the product in anyway (eg: you may want to trim a verandah post to the correct length); then you should re-treat the newly exposed timber.

We have 2 products that can help in this process. One comes in the form of a 2 litre can that is applied with a paint brush; and the other is in the form of an aerosol can for a spray-on application.
