Turned Timber Balusters For Stairs
Friday, March 06, 2015
Turned timber balusters are a great addition to many styles of staircases; and here at Hammersmith they have formed part of our range of stair products since the 1970's.
One of the very first designs that we manufactured in mass production was the Tasman style. This simple design has been produced over the years in different timbers and sizes, and it continues even today to be our most popular turned baluster.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that we would have made more than 100,000 Tasman balusters since it first appeared in our range of turning in the early 1980's. In the early days it was mainly produced in Meranti, then Pine took over, and in more recent years we have done a lot more of it in Victorian Ash.
