Where would you normally use a treated timber roof finial (or gable spire) ?
As a decorative feature attached to the gable of a house or carport.
What is it made out of ?
Plantation grown Western Red Cedar that is suitable for exterior above ground use.
Although the picture shows it being un-painted, the product that will be supplied will have a coat of white primer applied to it.
What are the important dimensions ?
Overall : 330mm Height x 460mm Width x 44mm Thick
Length of base section (that fixes to the roof) : 280mm
How do you fix it to the roof ?
It is designed to be fixed to a metal roof (rather than tiled, although it could still be used on tiles).
It comes with flanged metal base that can easily be pop riveted to the gable of a metal roof.
How should you finish it ?
A water based primer/undercoat is not necessary as it will be supplied with a coat of this already on it.
Adding 2 coats of the final colour is a must.
